Recent randomness

We are going to give potty training a whirl next month. I bought Emma two Happy Heiny trainers to try out since they are thicker and have a waterproof liner. They came in the mail last Wednesday and I tried one on Emma without the liner (they were somehow left off my order?!) and she immediately pulled it off, put it on her head and peed on the floor! Maybe we aren't ready for this phase yet. However, she is still doing pretty good with sitting on the potty before bathtime but she has not been "going" lately.

She has become hooked on the Veggie Tales "S'mores" song in the car. This song is cute but it is only 1:40 minutes long and it is getting sooooo old by about ten minutes into any car ride. She says "mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama..." until I hit the CD back to the song. Watching her wiggle and shake her arms from her carseat makes it worth it though.

Emma realizes when we are almost home now. There is a big gas station on our exit that has a digital sign for the gas price that is visible about a mile away. About two weeks ago I noticed Emma would start clapping and shouting "Yay, Yay, Yay" when we would get close to the exit. She has put together that the gas station sign means we will be home in about 2 minutes. I am so amazed by everything she is doing lately. She is learning in leaps and bounds in just the last few weeks.

BIG Anniversary

Jon's grandparents, better known as Granny and Diggie, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today.

Our first Matilda Jane order arrived last Thursday. We did a quick fashion show with Emma to make sure it fit. Emma grabbed her corn teether out of her diaper bag and started singing!

Why?

Why is it that clothing for baby girl's are so adorable and so expensive? I have spent more $$ on Emma's wardrobe than anything for myself. I tend to be a frumpy gal most of the time but I dream of being a hot mama one day. lol Don't we all?! Anyways, I have recently ordered from Mini Boden and Matilda Jane Clothing for the first time. It is so uber-cute that it is not even funny! I can't wait until the orders arrive next week...we must have a fashion show photo shoot and upload the pics, Jon!

Don't get me wrong, I love some items from The Children's Place and Old Navy as much as the next girl but there is just something about the clothing from Baby GAP, Gymboree, Mini Boden and MJC that just has it, know what I mean?! Not to even mention my favorite boutique designers, ModKid and Vintage*Chic. Granny has made Emma several uber-adorable outfits too! I'll try to add pics from the Easter egg hunt of Emma in her sweet outfit. :)

I just need to get myself able to part with all this fab clothing to fund her next season. I just don't think I can do it, in fact, I don't think Jon can do it. We are "pack it away-ers" and we are saving it back for that future daughter that may never come. We'd be in big trouble then anyways...all the coordinating sister outfits. Ay yi yi!
